Lifestyle advice can be summarized as advice that comes from a professional who analyzes the challenges you are facing and gives you options to overcome them. Trying to take on the challenges of life can be incredibly draining. At ProHealth Center, we will provide you with lifestyle advice that is designed to help you overcome the unique challenges that are being faced in your life.
The goal of our office is to help patients achieve total health and balance with their body, and as part of that goal we provide specific recommendations on nutritional supplements and healthy food choices. Nutritional counseling by our experienced health professionals can assist a patient on their return to optimal health.
Do you know which supplements and vitamins are good for you? Do you know how these supplements and vitamins interact with one another? At our clinic, we can provide each patient with a structured nutritional program that is based on their individual needs.

  • Gastrointestinal (GI)

Studies on the human microbiome have grown rapidly because of the ability to perform DNA-based sequencing of the bacteria in your gut. An imbalance of your gut bacteria has been correlated with dysfunction in your metabolism, immunity, and nervous system. Thus, your gastrointestinal tract is of utmost importance in maintaining optimal health. Is a healthy GI effective absorption of food? Is it bacterial overgrowth? Or is it a positive gut feeling?

  • Energy

Who doesn’t want more energy? Mitochondrial dynamics consist of opposing processes: fusion and fission, and biogensis and degradation. Importantly, these processes vary based on age, environment, and genetics. Preventing your mitochondria from developing properly can lead to irreparable damage to their DNA. Thus, many diseases have been isolated as mitochondrial dysfunction – including being contaminated by certain toxicants.

  • Hormones

Levels of most hormones decrease with aging, but even at lower levels they must work in conjunction with all your body systems. Addressing your hormone receptors and their sensitivity is key. Nutritional deficiencies as well as toxic exposures can still affect a younger person. While estrogen and testosterone are major components of your hormonal balance, often your Melatonin (governing your sleep cycle) production can become more sensitive as you age.

  • Detox

Toxicity from past prescription drugs, drugs of abuse, or exposure to agricultural toxins represents a major need to detoxify. Cleaning up internally by increasing particles in your body that bind to toxins can be effective. Increasing your vital organs’ ability to function is more than a 7 day juice cleanse – it’s for the rest of your life, and we’re happy to teach you.

  • Immune

Your immune system and brain communicate extensively. Evidence of dysregulated immune systems correlate with psychiatric disorders. Overactive and underactive immune systems are a subject of intense research, and so far we do know that by maintaining your individual homeostasis it optimizes your ability to fight disease.

  • Cardiometabolic

Atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease are closely associated with inflammation – it’s no longer just about your intake of cholesterol, salt and fat but how they contribute to stress on your cardiovascular system. We can measure your inflammatory response – and find ways to take control of your destiny.
